I just wanted to drop in and say that's exactly what it is. I would never presume to ask someone to pay for the "privilege" of giving feedback, as you say, that would be outrageous. It's not an alpha test, it's an alpha version.
That being said, I do very much *appreciate* feedback when it is given. Precisely because nobody actually owes us any.
