First of all - AquaMark3 is a nice free benchmarking utility based on the game-engine used in games like aquanox and spellforce. After you run the test it provides you with a "TRISCORE" which is a quite realistic estimate of the gaming performance of your pc. AquaMark3 is a DirectX 9 benchmark. But since it's based on a real game engine it has fallbacks to DirectX 8 and even DirectX 7.
So, I thought it would be interesting to see what kind of scores you guys and gals get with your CRPG rigs ;D
Also, all of you with older PC's please participate, It would be very interesting to see the scores of old rigs too.
It's only a 60meg download (as opposed to the 600megs of 3dmark06) and you can get it here:
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=673
The test only takes a few minutes, not half an hour like 3dmark.
I'm in the market for a new videocard and I was benchmarking my current one (to compare when I get the new one installed) using aquamark3 - and that is where I got the idea for this thread. Please run the default benchmark in 1024x768 if possible so that the scores really compare.
So, I'll start this with my own results:
I'm running an Athlon64 3000+ with a gig of ram and a Geforce 7600GS (256mb)
and here's the triscore I got:
GFX - 8,343
CPU - 8,549
OVERALL - 56,074
With this system I can run all the modern games fine in 1024x768 (like bioshock, stalker, two worlds , neverwinter2 etc) but I'm preparing for Clear Sky and TW: Temptation
