It's kind of a pity. Germany has some really wonderful voice actors, but almost all of them are aged 70+ by now, many are already dead. There were great voices among them, but alas the new generation has little remarkable voices. Peter Groeger who speaks Forgrimm for instance has spoken prolly 100s of characters, Dr. Watson and Quark from DS9 among them.
That may be right for certain media (Hörspiele etc). German dubs/localizations are often complete crap. Whenever it's casting of 'Speakers', voice actors with a range of exactly one voice, e.g. Marie-Jane Watson (1994 Spiderman cartoon) and Bart Simpson (The Simpsons) have the same voice, or Steve Urkel (Family Matters) and Vegeta (Dragonball Z, later recast). And if you ever been unfortunate enough to play the original German Baldur's Gate you know that in one point in time AAA English-to-German video game translators were not required to understand English. There is no country AFAIK that has taken the voice over "art" to such perfection as Germany.
