The reviews are averaging out to around 8/10, which is reasonable. I'm around 15 hours in (yeah, I backed it) and it's a fun jrpg that's definitely in the vein of the old school suikoden games. While that makes for an overall enjoyable game it does mean it shares some of the design limitations of old school jrpgs such as limited inventory spaces forcing you to choose what to take with you, and fast travel not being unlocked for a while.
Honestly I'm pretty impressed with what they've done with their kickstarter money compared to other similarly funded games I've played. They obviously had further funding to dip into.
Don't buy it on Switch though, it apparently runs like an old dog on that. Any other platform is fine. I'm playing it on GoG, no issues found so far.
