I didn't like Simon 3. To me, it was just awful, but that's just my personal taste.
But to me, this affects ONLY the graphics. The writing is good as ever.

I really can't say much about Simon 4 and 5 - 5 is in the works, and I've got 4 here, installed, but didn't play too far into the game so far.

I sometimes wonder whether Everlight would be a bit like Simon ... Haven't tried it yet.

To me, the graphics wasn't the only problem. I found the game to be extremely frustrating to play and soon enough ran into a bug that made it impossible for me to continue the game...
