Well, remember that the author was mainly writing about the German market ... And if you don't call these kind of games "casual", how do you call them instead ?

Besides, the site where it comes from is the web site of a magazine rather directed at developers, not at customers.

This implies that the whole view might be very different from how you see it as a customer.

I didn't mean those genres wasn't casual, but one major point of his analysis is to quote that most casual release are only those genre, something totally wrong.

If the App Store isn't a typical Casual Market then I wonder, check the top 100, then you see how wrong he is.

There are innovative casual games but most won't sell well, teach a lesson to developers won't change anything because it's players choices.
