Name that game!

Skavenhorde's game is one of the many lookexactlyalike Avernums. Which one? Does it matter? I'll guess V.

Very close Crpgnut, but no cookie ;)

I'll give you a huge hint. It's the only spiderweb game that doesn't have a sequel. I bet Dhruin would know. He seemed to like this one as much as I did.

Here! Here!

Alpha Centauri?

One of the faction leaders had my favorite name from a game -- Deirdre Skye. I'm using the "Skye" surname and variations of it for lots of my player characters in some RPGs.

Yep. And not only is Dierdre Skye amongst the coolest of names(and I always play that faction) but all the leaders' quotes are quite entertaining and interesting. Somone put a lot of time into that aspect of the game.

skav, is it that Nethergate? That's the only one I know that doesn't have a sequel, and the only one I've played.

Forgot all about Nethergate! It looks so much like Avernums that I would never have guessed it wasn't one.

Magerette gets the :cookie:

You're correct. It's my favorite out of them all. Gotta love a Roman/Celtic setting.

Next we're going old school on ya. I'll be really impressed if anyone knows this old gem. I literally spent months playing this game over and over again. It is what got me hooked on wargaming instead of just ol' D&D

You know it does doesn't it? I never really made that connection before, but in some ways they are similar. Although this game would be either the father or grandfather of MOM.

The game from page 14 was Heavy of the Magick. Someone should make remake for pc of it. It rocked.

No one knows the fantasy strategy game that basically gave birth to the whole genre? Oook then. I'll give you a hint it has the word sword in the title :)

Now I thought I'd try something a little easier. I love these games to my core. When I was a kid I would practice lockpicking in real life just like it did in the game. I ssoooo wanted to be a theif and have marvelous adventures meeting Ruskellas and Dragons. Ahh to be a kid again :)

Well here they are. Some pics from the very best CRPG series ever made. This one had a more darker theme and a few bugs, but it still is one of my favorites.

Hero's Quest 4

Hero's Quest 4

Bingo :)

Edit: Technically Quest for Glory 4. They had to give up the name Hero's Quest after the first one because there was already a computer/boardgame with the name HeroQuest.

And now for something completely different.

You are correct, sir!

This next one I played the demo of it and had to have it. Not just for the gameplay, but because they actually had a song in it. It might of been one of the first games to have a song made for it. Sorta gimmiky, but still not half bad.

We already did that one ;)

One of the first Diablo clones - and now I can't even remember the damn name...

Speaking of Diablo clones, you have to see what the Top 6 list below selects as the #1 clone ;)

Sword of aragon. Finished that one, and it was a good game.

Already done doesn't count ;) Still need a name.:D

As for the #1 diablo clone, they had to of done that list in California. You'd have to be smoking some of that medical marijuana to think that Dungeon Siege was #1. What's up with witcher being on that list? No way is that a clone.

In any case, I'll give you something harder since you guys already did that one. This one is one of the best and original games I've ever played. Not the best RPG by a large margin since it's pretty linear and you basically have no choices in the way the story goes. Still with that said, it was a ton of fun and one darn good story. Wish they made a book based on this setting.

Great game. I almost returned it when I first got it for Christmas so many years ago because all I wanted was RPGs. Glad I didn't because that one introduced me to strategy gaming.
