I liked the mech element but I didn't like the combat too much. It's more of a puzzle since you know what the enemy will do at all times.
Suggest you watch a video on the combat and you'll see what I mean. If you like those kind of things then it may be good for you. I never finished the game.

The Old World is on my wishlist, but I have too many other games to play for now.
