Mass Effect 2 PS3 Gold Announcement.

There's quite a bit of Mass Effect 2 news to share for PlayStation 3 enthusiasts this evening, as BioWare has not only announced that the game has officially gone gold for Sony's platform, but they've also released a seven-minute podcast interview with producer Jesse Houston. In it, Jesse talks about what their goals were for the port, the bonus content they'll be including on the Blu-ray disc, the planet-scanning improvements they've made, how they've used the Mass Effect 3 engine to power ME2 for the PS3, and more.

If that wasn't enough, IGN has conjured up some comparison videos of both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game running side-by-side (the PS3 version is noticeably brighter) and a brief preview that explains why the system will never see ME1 and how the control scheme has been modified:
