Morrowind has level scaling and Skyrim's version is quite similar to it. Oblivion's version was just lazy implementation.

Agreed. It was horrible in Oblivion, even though I loved that game. Combat was tougher in Morrowind than it is in Skyrim though. I don't care about tough combat, so I prefer Skyrim I love exploration and lots of places to visit and there isn't a single-player game made that has more maps than Skyrim. Only the largest MMO's come close.
