C2077 Spoiler question about Reed in CP

I'm on the "You Know my Name" mission in Phantom Liberty where I'm in the sniper nest and Reed has over to move to the lift. I decided to wipe out all the guards and obstacles before telling him to move, but as soon as I take out one thing, everything is alerted and Reed moves anyway. I got him to the other side without a problem, saved and looked at a walkthrough to see what was up with that. The guides warns of serious consequences if you do what I did and just shoot the place up. My question is what are those 'serious consequences'? I don't like Reed anyway so if he gets fucked up I'm ok with that, just as long as I don't miss out on any missions.

I also ended up shooting up the place. Can't remember exactly what I did to screw up the whole sequence.
But I did not see any serious consequences. Not sure what it's referring to.
I maybe remember that I felt like there were basically no consequences, and that I only got some dialogue lines due to what I did.
