PlayWay posted a new kickstarter update for Hard West with a look at the guns in the old western setting. and compare guns from other games.

Celebrating a round number of 250 backers, here's a bunch of classic guns from Hard West. One thing about the guns is that we resigned from an outline or a sideshot - they don't do justice to the powerful machinery you get to hold

They also shared news in another update about DRM.

We're happy to announce that per backers' request, the game will be released in a DRM free version as well available for all backers along with the Steam keys.

Now as for funding the game has earned $12,863 of the $70,000 goal.

And mysteriously, the Kickstarter is devoid of any mention of whether or not you can make (or shape, a la X-Com) your own characters. Weird.

This game looks awesome, and I want to keep an eye on it for sure.

This makes me think you will be able to customize your character(s)

Character development - this is a major topic for us, so stay tuned for a detailed design.
