Conclave is a new tabletop-inspired RPG you can play solo or co-op being developed by a small studio called 10x10 Room. Here is a video and some more details.

Conclave is a browser RPG that captures the spirit of a tabletop game.

  • An original fantasy setting rich in lore: The story begins in the Conclave, a realm where the races of the Kin have gathered after the long Age of Retreat. Its people have ceased to dream, and the search for a cause will uncover the legacy of an ageless power.
  • Turn-based tactical combat: Confront the many and varied enemies of the Conclave on detailed battlemaps. Take advantage of the terrain and your character's unique martial and magical abilities, but beware of unseen foes and traps both mechanical and arcane.
  • Story-driven decision-making: Critical decisions determine your path through the story. Your options depend on your character's skills, traits, and previous actions; it's then up to you to choose a course of action, for good or for ill.
  • Unique, customizable characters: Choose from five distinctive archetypes and five original races, then customize your character from over 100 abilities and 120 items as you level.
  • Play solo or with up to three friends: The game scales combats to the exact size of your party. Visit the Adventurers Hall to find other players to join you.
  • Play at your own pace: Take turns in real time when friends are online and at your leisure when they're not. Persistent chat lets you communicate either way, and you can step away at any time and pick up again right where you left off.
  • Play from your PC, tablet, or smartphone: All Conclave requires is a reasonably recent browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or IE9+. There's nothing to download, and the game doesn't require Flash, just HTML5 and JavaScript.
The first ten adventures in Conclave are free. Purchasing the full game unlocks Legacy of the Dweller, a campaign of fifteen more adventures that complete the story. Only one player in each party needs to own the campaign for everyone to play.

I don't remember it honestly, but pressed F3, typed phone and it found it so I'm out.

the original idea of browser based games was to be platform agnostic.

are you certain its still online required?

I like the tabletop style of the gameplay.

It's not actually "new".

I played it months ago in beta.
It has some good ideas but I think it would suffer from being very repetitive. The game - at the time - had the first chapter finished and it was very linear. The enemies were not hard to beat unless they were massing up against you and some easy exploits could ruin the AI.

I think there was one battle where you had to face a very strong enemy. But if you had a certain skill you could push him back every turn. So he couldn't hit you.

However, the idea of playing with people online in a story based game was quite good.

If they've polished the game and improved the execution, then it might have become quite good.

I would recommend getting two or three friends of yours and playing with them as it makes the experience way better.

I might have a look again once I finish my eternal backlog. :)
