While you can just skip news you are not interested in of course I think "clutter" news make it a little harder to find the "real news". Currently a lot of the news are reviews/previews and links to other sites and their opinions about the game. And while I think it's nice to have them, I think it's getting a little cluttered.
In addition it also splits up conversations.
My impression about review-news is that lots of comments in these threads are not directly related to the review posted but about "meta topics" considering the game - or own opinions of the game. And I think it would be constructive to "gather" these conversations a bit instead of spreading them out over multiple threads.
So I think an alternative would be to gather review news a bit.
This would also give a better overview about the game. So if you only check one of the review news and the game gets a 6/10 you might get a different impression than when there a 5 reviews with a range from 6/10 to 9/10.
Not everyone will check each and every news.
There are of course multiple ways to do it. For example there could be a Review/Preview Roundup day, which is the only day when reviews are posted (maybe different for each game or different for each category of game?).
Or there could be a number of reviews which must have been gathered before a news is written about it (like no news without 3-5 gathered reviews depending on the "size" of the game as a Avadon will not cause as many reviews as a Skyrim)
There are probably other possibilities. But I think you get my point.
And of course there are exceptions. Like the first review of the game or the first preview.
But maybe I am completely alone with this opinion? Maybe you want to know about all Reviews as soon as they are posted? Tell us
