If you remember, I reported a problem about the forum scrolling at the wrong position when loading links to specific posts. We apparently still have this problem. See the post here and the discussion below about what people see:

Of course, maybe the link above won't work. It's post #93 on that page, with a link to PibbuR's post in another thread. EDIT: Indeed, same bug with that link.

What I see normally (Light Blue Legacy -- Small Font (12px) Fixed Width)
  • I click on the preview link at the bottom (or the direct link) - NOT the link in the quote at the top
  • => OK, it shows the thread and the correct post, in Light Blue Legacy / small font
  • I refresh several times (F5)
  • => OK
  • note: the URL in the address bar remains the same
What I see in incognito (and probably what others see if they use another theme):
  • I click on the preview link (or the direct link)
  • => it briefly shows the thread and the correct post, in Dark Fluid
  • => BUG, it flashes, changes to Light Fluid and scrolls up to the top of page 175 (which is the correct page)
  • I refresh several times (F5)
  • => BUG, sometimes, it shows the same page but a different post each time I press F5. After a few refreshes, it finally remains on Carnifex post (#3,489). Most of the time, though, it remains at the top.
  • note: the URL changes after flashing the first time, from https://rpgwatch.com/forum/threads/things-you-dont-need-to-know.14612/post-1061742456 to https://rpgwatch.com/forum/threads/things-you-dont-need-to-know.14612/page-175#post-1061742456&_xfRedirect=https://rpgwatch.com/forum/threads/things-you-dont-need-to-know.14612/page-175#post-1061742456 (which explains the positioning problem)
EDIT: I also noticed the link of the preview was different to the direct link - though I gave the same URL both times. The preview has a # in it but the other doesn't. Both URLs lead to the same problem.

Would it be possible to have a direct link to embedded youtube videos? I prefer watching them on youtube itself, and now I always have to start the video before I can click the 'youtube' logo in the bottom and go to the video there.

It's only a minor inconvenience, but I figured I'd ask. :)
 
There is a direct link below each embedded video already. Though that just works on forum threads and not the Frontpage news. Should be easy to fix that.:unsure:

I'm not sure what's up with that, but it appears on the default XF theme as well, so it's not a theme issue.

Fake edit: I see what's up; he's used the "Article" thread type instead of standard "Discussion". That's one of newfangled XF things I haven't really looked at yet to see what's what. I just changed it to default now.
