And after listening to Patti Smith yesterday I rolled onto a group that she was a frequent writer for and collaborator with: Blue Oyster Cult. I might be on this band for a few days, I often forget just how many albums in total they've put out, not to mention the scores of excellent concerts available to watch.

Now that Slayer is pretty much no more.... here is a number from Kerry King's solo album.
No surprise, it sounds like Slayer! It even has Paul Bostaph on drums.
Vocalist is pretty good - it's Mark Osegueda from Death Angel (a criminally underappreciated thrash band that formed in the same era as Slayer, et al).

This morning was brilliant out on the porch, lots of sunshine and temperatures were above seventy F. So I broke out some old school Rolling Stones and had a rollicking good time!

You may know this classic song by Suicidal Tendencies - Institutionalized:

After listening to this on Youtube I found quite a few liberal cover versions. This one is almost directly translated into spanish, which is pretty cool and works just as well:

Luicidal - Institucionalizado

This one is a pretty fun re-interpretation by Body Count.

Ice-T raps and shouts with such a clear pronunciation that even as a non-english native speaker I almost understood every word the first time I heard the song.

Fun fact: when I search for "suicidal tendencies" on youtube there is a message "You are not alone" with the number of telephone counselling. Glad that I can click on "show me the search results" with a clear conscience.

I read that bit about Paul getting his board back, sometimes good things do happen.

Yesterday I flashed back a bit with some Jethro Tull, straight to the woods and kept going.
I was lucky to see them live last year, although totally wet by the weather (no hall).
